Rehoboth Youth Soccer Club (RYSC) is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a soccer program for the children of Rehoboth. RYSC is not affiliated with the Town of Rehoboth and receives no funding from the town. The Bliss Soccer Complex resides on land leased from the Bliss Brothers Dairy. RYSC developed the Bliss Soccer Complex with the help of donations of services, time, money, and materials by the generous people and businesses of Rehoboth. The Complex and our programs run using the moneys from players’ registration and from renting the fields to other soccer clubs. RYSC does not pay directors or coaches. We rely on volunteers to fill these roles for the benefit of the players in the program. Please consider volunteering your time to support the program. The program welcomes boys and girls who are between ages 3 and 13 years old as of September 1st 2020. All children are placed on teams by grade: This year we are planning to hold the Pre-K division for children ages 3 & 4 as of September 1st. There will be a Kindergarten division as well as grade divisions for all other kids. The Pre-K and K divisions will be held for 6 weeks this year due to the colder weather towards the end of the season. For all kids in Pre-k Through the Grade 1/2 Division the teams will be Co-Ed. In the Grade 3/4, Grade 5/6, and Grade 7/8, the teams will be by gender. All games are “small-sided,” typically 6-on-6, allowing for lots of action and ball contact for every child.Teams will be put together in early September (depending on registrations. You can expect to hear from a coach the week before opening day. Play will begin on September 12, 2020. All games are on Saturdays. We do not typically accept special requests for team assignments or coaches, please do not reach out unless you have a very specific need or circumstance.Teams may practice one or more times during the week at the discretion of the coach. This is a recreation league, meaning that although games themselves are competitive, no team standings are kept, and no tournaments or playoffs are held. We try to balance all teams with more- and less-skilled players. Teams are built “from scratch” each year. Priorities are soccer education, sportsmanship, and fun.The town also enters teams in competitive leagues and tournaments in conjunction with Dighton. This travel program is separate from the recreation program. Separate tryouts and registration are announced at various times of the year for those teams. This form is just for the Rehoboth town recreational league.
